I had a crazy day today :wacky:

So I officially need to find Luke a new vet. The office I’ve been taking him to was not a avian specialist but as you may have read in my last thread that because of COVID the avian specialists in my area are all on leave and that this new vet I’ve been taking him to “has experience with birds” but I was desperate to bring him somewhere to treat him, that I didnt have much of a choice. (His droppings were very watery) However this vet was the WORST. He gave him antibiotics after making him go through 2 rounds of treatment, so I had a question about his progress and how he should be improving and he basically just said to go somewhere else (probably because he doesn’t know what he was doing). Which stresses me out because why would you say you have experience with birds in the first place :wacky: So I’m here worried about how my Luke is and have no guidance from the vet anymore (After 17 days total of antibiotics) and I HOPE he gets better because there is nowhere else I can bring him.

I feel overly worried even if he has a few watery droppings just because I feel like I don’t even remember what his “normal poop” looks like anymore o_O I hate feeling like I can’t do anything for my baby bird.

I'm sorry, that's so frustrating! I've been to vets that "see birds" and haven't had good luck either. Do you offices with Avian vets have an ETA of when they will be back? Or would they be up to talk to the vet you're seeing to give him guidance?

I know! There is one I believe that is open in my area but I had a very bad experience with them so I refuse to go back and the other 2 places just said “they are on leave and don’t know when exactly they will be back“. I have never had a vet in any of my birds lifetimes that I really like or trust and it scares me to go somewhere new and Luke is very very difficult with being handled so I worry about the stress on him as well.
