Hello!
This morning I let my 2 month old lovebird out of the cage to fly around - once she went back on her cage I noticed how she was standing on one leg and the other holding in in the air as you see in the picture attached. She had previously did this before but it only lasted about a minute then her leg was back to normal. Unfortunately, I have no avian vet anywhere in town or near, so I took her to a regular vet. They are not very experienced with bird patients, so naturally they didn't provide me with much. She can move her leg, as I just saw her trying to scratch her head with it. I believe it somehow got jammed while flying around. I cannot explain how she managed to get her leg in this state.
The vet speculated its probably calcium deficiency. They gave me some vitamins to add to the water. Also recommended giving her some eggs. Obviously I already have cuttlefish bones in my cage.
Her leg is still like this.
I would really appreciate your help and advice.
