Hey guys! Please let me know if this is the wrong place to post this (cross posted here and behaviour byway as I’m not sure which is the best place to post for this question)
so I’m currently hand rearing a green cheek conure (it’s sibling will be pulled from the nest next week) and I’m wondering about socialisation for birds. I know with dogs they have a critical period ect when they’re puppies but I cannot find any information about parrots.
at around what age would you say it’s okay to take a bird out and about to be exposed to different surroundings? And then at what age would you be comfortable having it handled by strangers? At what age did you introduce a harness? Any tips or tricks on how to raise a happy, socialised well balanced bird would be really great!
