My 2 year old lovebird has started foaming at the mouth. She’ll start by looking like she’s about to regurgitate then all of the sudden there’s foamy saliva all over her beak. She’ll violently shake her head til it’s all stuck to her face. I wiped some off and gave her water but she’s been up all night doing this. She’s never acted like this, i’m very worried. I noticed she was very cuddly today, snuggling under my chin (which she doesn’t do often) and now she’s sitting on my shoulder trying to sleep. She looks very tired and was closing her eyes while eating food a few minutes ago. I’m waiting til the vet opens at 8:30am to call but is there anything i should be doing in the meantime?

Is she warm enough while y’all wait? I’m glad you’re getting her in ASAP, that’s terrifying. Keep us updated!

There’s definitely something very wrong. They need to do another crop swab and a gram stain right away, and it’s good that they’re doing X-rays too.
