Agreed that the dual height cage is terrible. Every bird I've ever seen in one only uses the top part. So you're essentially only getting half of a cage for that price. Your bird couldn't even stretch its wings in that spot. It's natural for them to spend the most time in the highest part of the cage. Plus, think about the door placement and how you will clean and decorate. It's a very awkward design for you, too.

The second one is promising, but bar spacing is too large for a parrotlet.

While the interior space is good, the roof of the cage does not offer added play space and will inhibit light from entering the top.
For a caique I would get something like this...
HQ Medium Playtop Bird Cage 32x23 - by BirdsComfort.com

...a large if you get 2 caiques..as long as the bar spacing is not too wide.

I have had Joey in that size cage when he comes downstairs. He seems comfortable. But i feel it is better for him to be in a larger cage when he has to be in there for more than 4 hours.

There is also this one. The dimensions are 36” X 26” X 51”. Between this one that is higher and that other one that is wider (64"W x 21"D x 27"H) but not as deep, which one do you guys think?

Thanks so much @JosienBB ! Very helpful! I will order it from there if I chose it. What do you think about the higher one, would it be better for a caique? Is it better more width or more height? Im leaning towards width, cause they dont really fly upwars, but I could be wrong... And would the bar thickness of 2.5mm be appropriate? would they be able to bend it or break it? They have awfully sturdy and powerful beaks!

Width is better than height. They fly like airplanes, not helicopters :)

My friend had her caique in a flight cage for 8 years. She didn't have a problem with him messing with the bars.
