They are venomous but they would rather just get away from us large beings so they are generally pretty harmless unless you harass them. I will put this fella back outside in a dry spot in a little bit so he can keep eating pests in the garden.
Idk if you saw the thread, but my Great Blue Heron friend, that seemed to follow us everywhere we went, once landed not more than one foot right in front of me.I was out at the field I rent for my dog today. It’s in the country. We drove by a great blue heron less than 2 m from us! No pics as I was driving. We later saw it take flight. It looked right at me. They’re huge close up!

They say they don't get over 4 1/2 feet tall, but I'm here to tell you, this one stood eye to eye with me (I'm 5'4"). No lie, true story.
There has been a mama raccoon and atleast 5 babies in a backyard tree on and off for the last few days. It's so hard to tell how many because you rarely see them all together and when you do some huddle together. Before I going between 4 or 5 raccoons in total. Now I'm wondering if there a 6th. The mama was feeding atleast 4 babies a minute ago.
