:scared5: Woah those things a creepy! To me anyway. We have house centipedes here, they're pretty ugly too IMHO but they are useful so we leave them alone. @Shezbug are they venomous or something? Or are pretty harmless
They are venomous but they would rather just get away from us large beings so they are generally pretty harmless unless you harass them. I will put this fella back outside in a dry spot in a little bit so he can keep eating pests in the garden.

I was out at the field I rent for my dog today. It’s in the country. We drove by a great blue heron less than 2 m from us! No pics as I was driving. We later saw it take flight. It looked right at me. They’re huge close up!

Idk if you saw the thread, but my Great Blue Heron friend, that seemed to follow us everywhere we went, once landed not more than one foot right in front of me.

They say they don't get over 4 1/2 feet tall, but I'm here to tell you, this one stood eye to eye with me (I'm 5'4"). No lie, true story.

There has been a mama raccoon and atleast 5 babies in a backyard tree on and off for the last few days. It's so hard to tell how many because you rarely see them all together and when you do some huddle together. Before I going between 4 or 5 raccoons in total. Now I'm wondering if there a 6th. The mama was feeding atleast 4 babies a minute ago. Here's pics I got 20230716_194946.jpg 20230716_194906.jpg 20230716_191449.jpg 20230716_194851.jpg 20230711_194215.jpg 20230716_195146.jpg 20230711_185708.jpg 20230716_195001.jpg 20230716_191731.jpg 20230716_191441.jpg 20230716_191432.jpg 20230711_201442.jpg

Yeah they're so cute!! They all down now I think. I caught 3 of babies going down to bushes below. Those pics aren't great. But I couple cute ones before. First pic is Mama 20230716_201522.jpg 20230716_203743.jpg 20230716_204353.jpg 20230716_204059.jpg 20230716_201615.jpg

Then here are little clip of Mama nursing. And later babies climbing around her. Sorry the camera work is so shaky thou

No picture because people hate it when you stop traffic, but this morning I saw a white-tailed deer in town. There is a large expanse of lawn bordered by a bank, dentist office, grocery store, and an apartment complex. The deer was standing between the dentist office and the bank watching traffic.

I love raccoons and apparently my grandparents had some as pets. They are very very naughty when they grow up, though. There are many in our city, living in the storm drains and hedges/ back lots.

I used to have a pet chipmunk when I was a kid. My mom would not let me have a pet so I found one and he actually did very well all summer. I could handfeed them in our yard but could never feed the grey squirrels. In the city here they are very tame. Up north they are not.

my backyard has been destroyed (ploughing up) so there are not many critters, not even the crows.
