I didn't get a picture, but 2 nights ago, I went out on my back porch and there was, I am assuming mother, racoon and 4 babies. Four. On my porch. And not afraid of me. I sat down, thinking they would run off. Nope. Just kept coming closer and closer. I literally said to them- you're supposed to be scared. Run away. Quit looking at me. Don't come any closer. All 4 of them were probably 10 inches from me. They are adorable. But.... they get into everything. I really don't want to be dealing with all these racoons getting in the garbage, etc.

@sunnysmom I wonder if people have been feeding them. We had a neighbour who would hand feed them, until one day he got bit! I think they are cute and like seeing them from time to time. But they can be a problem. We had our big compost bin moved about 12ish feet, which we figured were raccoons. My mom a bungee cord around it so luckily they didn't get into it.

It's possible. I had a neighbor at my old house who fed the raccoons. My boyfriend came over one night and was sitting on his motorcycle talking on the phone and 2 tried to crawl up his leg!

Could be a pay wall thing or that @Shezbug is in Australian. I always hate someone links a YouTube video or something and it comes up "Not available in your country" :crycry2::tntrnm:
That kind of thing drives me insane... Literally. Now the secret is out... Janet is insane and it was the internet that made her that way.

Got to one of my favorite places today. I saw Canadian geese, ducks, Red winged black birds, a couple of painted turtles and a snake. They are currently draining part of the marsh, something to do with helping good bacteria or something. A goose family of 3. The baby just getting in his adult pattern 20230731_172808.jpg 20230731_173131.jpg Can you find the snake? 20230731_175443.jpg 20230731_173836.jpg 20230731_175152.jpg 20230731_175148.jpg 20230731_173303.jpg 20230731_172810(0).jpg

The fuzzy tree lumps are back in our tree tonight. They totally looks furry tree growth when I first noticed them 20230803_180556.jpg

They were pretty active tonight playing and grooming each other at time. I think I count 7 tonight. I know there's atleast 6. I count 5 one side and then 2 other. But when I tried to recount the 5 I could only find 4. It just started storming and that tree is moving around a lot. They were still there 5 minutes ago. Anyway here's some pics. Oh and picture of a small egg shell. About the size of lovebird egg maybe a little bigger. I'm not sure where it came from. 20230803_185216.jpg 20230803_180047.jpg 20230803_181848.jpg 20230803_181756.jpg 20230803_180643.jpg 20230803_182252.jpg 20230803_181609.jpg 20230803_180218.jpg 20230803_181657.jpg 20230803_180325.jpg

Wow it really poured for a couple of minutes. Eased up a little bit, but there's still lighting and thunder. Interestingly they when higher when it started. Then I went outside when coming down a bit, it looked like 3 of were trying to make down but decided not to and hanker down.
Here's a video of them playing :heart2:

I got go to one of my favorite spot today. Saw a family of ducks, with very feisty ducklings. Attack ducklings

There was a kid with his mom and caught a snake. They let go after looking at them. I had no idea how bad snake musk can smell! :gag: Well not as strong in terms the distance it can go, the stinky factor is intense. Rivals skunk I would say. Here's some pictures 20230826_171825.jpg 20230826_164517.jpg 20230826_164520~2.jpg 20230826_164516.jpg 20230826_171909.jpg 20230826_164619.jpg 20230826_165344.jpg 20230826_172220_001.jpg 20230826_172211.jpg

My dog & I watched this butterfly dry the dew off his wings & fly away this morning in the apartment backyard. I like getting face photos of insects.

A wasp tried to attack him & climb on a wing, but he escaped by flying a short ways to my jeans & drying his feet. It was so cute!

I think it’s a monarch. @ChromeScholar
Is this accurate? He was resting on a clover flower.
