I did her medication this morning, but i mentioned that this kind of bump near her wound is not her preengland, i saw her actual preengland that was a bit further down on her tailfeathers, but the good news is that it has shrinked i have no idea what it was but it shrinked‍!??

I just feel frustraded becuase when i came home my birds collar was off becuse she succeded to bite it off, so i took her out and maybe thought it was good to let her fly a bit and then she started preen herself and then she started to bite on her wound, so now the wound healing procces is dameged, but i got her a shower and then put on antibiotic cream and put her collar back on, i called the vet afterwards and they told us she would have a another type of collar , so they suggested that we were gonna go to the vet tomorrow and put her on anatshishia to put the collar on? And i think it just weird and a bit uneccesary to put her to sleep to just put a collar on

You should be able to tell from the ends of the dropped feathers if they have been plucked out or if they naturally molted out.
Can you elaborate? I'm having some concerns with Erwin.

I think it is very dangerous to put her to anastheusha just to look at the wound and put a new collar, she had ahnastheziha 2 weeks ago

@Shezbug can you elaborate? Does the ends of a plucked feather look mutilated?
They usually have some blood on them and look a bit different to naturally dropped feather. I am almost sure there was a thread here somewhere that showed the difference between a plucked and a naturally molted feather.

I have a slight problem tho, my bird is very bonded to me so when i come into the room shirps, when i leave the room she shirps, butwhen i came near her she starts to bite into her collar and tries to bite her wound, but when she kind of preens herself, she does this kind of shirps like when she is comfortable, but when om not in the room she stops bite on her collar and is calm, i cant walk into the kitschen without catching her to bite on her collar, am i triggering something?

Did they have to use anesthesia? How was the wound when vet checkup?

Probably a little displaced frustration with collar and the excitement of seeing you. My birds in cage will bang toys when I come over .

I would just keep doing your routine as you always have. She needs you your her flock . Hopefully she will start healing up now she can't reach it

We didnt go to the vet on friday because her old collar did not come off, but before when she had her new collar she completly stretched it out and was able to bite it off. But when i came to the vet with her her wound was fleshy and black at the time, but ive seen a lot improvement ofc, the vets there want to put ahnasteshia to make the checkup less stressful but if its just an examination i think it is a bit uneccecersy?

I’m glad she’s doing a bit better and keeping her collar on. Poor little girl. I’m so glad you got her seen by the vet and got some help.

Looking healthier tissue! Going to take more time to heal from the bottom inside up . Definitely don't let her get back at it.

How's her behavior? More accepting of collar?

well in some times she is aggressily spinning her collar and flares her tail, but she is more calm about it, it has been three weeks now and is still in her sick cage, wich i feel terrible about, becuase if she is out she tries to fly away and crashes, but she has always the radio on, spoil her with her favorite food and hold her company!❤

Hello a big update!!! We went to the vet today becuse the wound did still not look healed, and she picked at it and bleeding ect. But the vet told us ofc that it looked better, but the antibiotics and the antibiotic cream was not the right treatment becuse it is a different bacteria or fungus, that is common in small birds, so they cotton swabbed her wound and will send it to the labs, in the meantime she will have two collars on and be given meloxicam to her, right know she is a bit drowsy after the ahnashetic , but she is eating rn!

I hope they determine the right medication to treat. It's been a long slog for you both! But you are making progress! I look forward to when you get to post she is all better!!!
Hugs!
