How many tail feathers does a conure have?

How many tail feathers does a GCC have? Sunflower has been slowly molting for about 6 months, and we thought her tail was done. She shed two tail feathers today. I'm starting to think she will just be molting for the rest of her life.

I know how you feel. My gcc has been molting in one place or another for the two years I've had her. It seems like it will be mostly head and neck, a pause for a couple of weeks, then wing and tail feathers, then body feathers, and then downy feathers. It's drawn out for months and then starts all over again. She has 13 tail feathers right now.

I find that mine only ever replace their tail feathers a couple at a time and it doesn't seem to have much to do with whether they are molting much elsewhere. I think they are so important for flight steering and balance that they only drop the next ones when the new ones are done growing in.
