Hi there,
My 14 year old green cheek conure, Toot, flew into the side of the table a week ago and badly injured his eye.
I took him to the vet, they dye tested his eye, and told me that it was just badly bruised and essentially a black eye. I was given pain medication to help for a few days.
His actual eye ball now appears red, and didn’t before, and I don’t know if this is part of the healing process or if I need to make another appointment with the vet.
Despite being less active the first copule of days he is eating, drinking, playing and regurgitating (it is spring here) and otherwise seems himself.
I have attached photos of injured eye when it first happened and the red that I am seeing now. The orange around the outside white of eye, is just residue from the eye stain the vet did.
I’m hoping someone can offer me some guidance.
Thank you in advance.
