Hi i have a pair of greeenwing macaws both are tamed. Male is bonded with me and female is relatively new. I have put them togather in a large aviary and given a nst box as both are adults. Problem is when i come into their sight male starts fighting with the female and chases her. I can see through cctv camera that they eat togather sleep togather and do mutual regurgitation and preening. I have to be quick when changing feeding bowls so they dont fight for long. How can i discourage this behaviour by male? is he being protective of female? female is around 6 years old and male is 5.

Another question!
my male has a good diet tries various stuff but female only eats nuts and few other things excluding vegetables. Will she learn from male to eat vegetables and other healthy stuff?

In regards to the diet question, yes, she will most likely try it after watching him eat them for a while.
