Hello! I have a question for you guys. My cockatiel has been doing something kind weird today. Hopefully the video link works, since it's a little hard to explain (sorry about the video in the back). He just squeaks in that odd position. He hasn't done it before today. His tail isn't bobbing, he hasn't been at the bottom of his cage, and he doesn't appear tired. I don't know if he's feeling weird? Or maybe he's just being weird and I don't need to worry about it. The only thing that has changed was we got a new cockatiel yesterday. But we're keeping them apart for the time being to let the new one adjust. But that's it. Am I worrying for no reason? Thanks!

Looks to me like a she as well :D
Typical mating behavior. How old is the bird and how long have you had it for?

I got it when it was about 4 months old and it's been about a year since then.

Cockatiels’ maturity age is around 18-24 months, so I guess your birdie is already there.
now all you want to do is not to encourage this behavior: touches limited to head only. If she does it in front of you, ignore and turn away

Good to know, thank you!

Yup, my lutino female does exactly this around my male. Males tend to sing and do "heart wings".
