Where to begin...
Jinka is home. Jinka is eating.
Not her normal spunky self yet but that will take time.
She was supposed to come home last night.
He did not release her to me.
No reason why except that he was going to do a blood test.
I go to pick her up today and he says that it has to be something I am doing. AND THAT NOBODY HAS THAT MUCH BAD LUCK. !?!?!?!?!?!??!?!!?
I just laughed and said "Excuse me, I am sorry jinka got sick, I hit a deer monday, the cockatiels randomly picked something up, and my mom got rear ended about an hour ago." Now what do you call that. I call it bad luck.
...You know I am sorry one of my birds, actually my boyfriends, died last year of liver disease it was out of my hands. I am sorry one of my birds ran into a wall with clipped wings. I am sorry the vet killed my bird in august. What the heck!?!??!?!?!? I didn't cause any of this. I haven't changed anything. Nothing new in the environment except the new conure.
The vet tech asked me "are you going to stop collecting birds now?" What the heck does that mean?!
I told her I am not a "collector((hoarder))." All my birds have been tested one place or another. I have three vets I use and I do not see the issue with that. One in baltimore one in fairfax and the westminster one is just convenient. Well, I have had the worst experience for connivence even though they are avian certified. Moreover, you know I actually reported a few people who don't take care of their birds?! One of which I am still having issues with. I have rescues, I work with a rescue, I want to start rehabilitating. I also volunteer at this rescue. HOW COULD ANYONE SAY I DON'T TAKE CARE OF MY BIRDS!?!?
I will go any length for my birds, cost is no matter. I love them they are my fids! I am not trying to bash the place but my experience in westminster has been horrible. I should have listened to my gut instinct and go to Fairfax, Va. Sorry for the rant but seriously...
SERIOUSLY!?
The vet in Westminster is Avian Certified; so is his partner.
With my experience there neither of them talk to one another or they skim each others messy notes on the file? I get different stories from each one...
Nobody seems to know what is going on.
THEN, THENNNN, I was told it could be citicossis?!?!? AND THAT THEY NEVER TESTED FOR THAT YET?!
I told them in the very beginning she had never been seen and to test her. He told me I said they had been seen. I SAID NOOOOOOOOOOO, my other birds have, she has not. He argued with me about the notes in the file. I then said did you test for it? No. Why not? I told you she had never been seen before. WHAT THE HECK!?!??!?!?!? Then he said that I had said that the breeder I got Jinka from had issues before. True, I told them she had a cockatiel death or a parolette death. BUT NO OUTBREAKS OF ANYTHING IN 16yrs. Of course I don't know the lady that well but still. WHAT THE HECK AGAIN!!!!???!?!?
SOoooooSOOoooooSooooooo Soooooo STreSSEd...
