I should know in two weeks about the results of a necropsy being preformed by a avian pathologist in CA. I will let you all know the results

she was beautiful. im sure she knew you tried everything for her. you are a good loving bird owner, do not let others tell you otherwise. number of fids means nothing. its the amount of love and care you put into owning them. im sorry for your loss. so so sorry

Hi Jenn

Sorry for your loss. Don't take it personally, you did the best you could for her and don't let the vet tell you otherwise. Babies are so fragile and their immune system is not as developed. Hope you get to the bottom of what exactly she had.

I know it's been awhile since I've spoken of Jinka...It's been hard on me...
We did find out what Jinka died of a virus that attacks the digestive tract...

The fortunate thing is we keep a tight ship here and the virus is susceptible to cleaning methods (steam cleaning, power washing, chlorox and uv-c air cleaners/germ sanitizers). So even though Jinka may have had this illness we isolated it to him. And, no other bird received transmission from Jinka since he was in isolation; all 13 of our current flock are full of vigor!

Thought you guys might like a quick update...
Thank you again for being there for my flock and I as we trecked through some of our darkest hours. Thanks to all the members of avian avenue!
