I have a 4 month old Love Bird. I know they love water. I am wondering if you find your bird enjoys baths or showers. If baths, what one do you have. Shallow or deep..

Mine both don't do showers or being misted.

Luna loves having baths in the sink with a bit of running water, or with half a cm of water in. Sometimes she prefers to bathe in my cupped hand with a trickle of running water. Rarely she will bathe in a water bowl. She also likes to bathe by rubbing up against condensation on a cold water bottle.

Anakin likes to flap about in water bowls. I've never attempted to mist him, because he's always been so content as he is.

Birds may enjoy bathing in various ways. Some birds have peculiar bathing habits, too! ;)

You could try providing bathing opportunities in different ways. Here's some ideas!
  • Try luke-warm water
  • Try cold water
  • Try ice-cold water
  • Try a spray bottle
  • Try a plant mister
  • Try in the sink with the water running or just some water in the bottom
  • Try in the sink with the sprayer
  • Try in the tub with some water in the bottom
  • Try a casserole dish or similar with some water
  • Try the dish with ice
  • Try the dish with foot toys
  • Try the dish with some small rocks or pebbles
  • Try the dish with some leafy greens like endive or other types of lettuces that may create a "natural" bowl
  • Try the dish with a vacuum cleaner running
  • Try in the shower with you - watching you having a blast getting wet!
  • Try dancing the bird into the shower with the water already going
  • Try spritzing yourself, and have fun doing it! Then spritz the bird
  • Try outside in an empty cage large enough to spread wings during a nice rain shower
  • Try outside in an empty cage using the hose with a mist/shower attachment
  • Try playing videos of other birds bathing

The only way I cab get my conure to bath is to take her into the shower with me. She wont even stay on her shower perch she physically has to be sitting on you and then she enjoys it. Any other way she just gets nervous :)

Mine likes a large ramekin with water (cold) trickling from the faucet into it. She bathes and showers in it until she is drenched. But I think a deep bowl would be dangerous, and scary. I'd stick with something where they can always touch the bottom and their back is still above the water. Then they can lower themselves if they want to or not.
