They think I'm their mate!

Hey guys,
I own two male lovebirds.
They are on a pellet and seed diet and I try to get them used to veggies.
They have a very big cage and lots of toys they enjoy.
They get 12 hours darkness.

I've noticed that if I using a baby voice to talk to them is a hormonal trigger and I am now avoiding it,
However I can see that for some reason they both think I am their mate.

If I talk to them while they are playing with a toy they will start fighting over the toy.
They fight over attention
Easily get hormonal from too much attention

I was giving them a treat from a bowl in my hand and Rocky chased Paapi away.
When I called for Paapi to come join us Rocky bit my finger. Well it wasn't reallly a bite but more of him applying pressure.


It makes me sad to see that I have somehow come in between their friendship
I want to be part of their flock, but not as their mate.
I'd love advice on how to achieve that.

From what you have written, it doesn´t sound to me that they see you as a mate.

My hens will sometimes try hog all my attention and drive anyone else away.

If you have a stand or playground, put the two birds with a gap inbetween and try not to let them chase the other by using positive reinforcement making them stay on their own side ie they only get treats and get to play with you when on their own side and not chasing the other bird.

I’m currently saving up for a playstand
The cage is big enough for them to find choose their own toy and play (I’ve seen them do it it makes me so happy ) however as soon as I give one of them attention the other seems to get jeleous

Should I walk away when that happens then?
How would you go about jeleous/territorial behaviour in the cage?
