second eaglet will be out of shell in next 5 to 30 minutes.
It is cracked wide open, just still inside the top and bottom.

OMG I saw Gabrielle get up to readjust and there was something very fluffy grey and pink wiggling underneath!

They sure do grow fast! Now fingers crossed the second one can get any food. The first chick has had quite the appetite.
But I'm sure these parents will feed both very well. I hope tomorrow is sunny and less wind so we get to see thm.

Still pretty windy, but Samson seems to be a pretty good fisherman! Heres the little ones when Samson took over nest duties

The older chick is really beating up on the younger chick. It grabs the younger chick by it's fur and twists and turns hard.

She fed the older chick, but the younger one didn't get even a bite

Again she fed the older chick, but didn't give the younger one a bite. And the older is still roughing up the younger one.

We all feel for the younger one but maybe that's part of their socialization?

I hope the little one gets fed as well. It's sad, but normal for eaglets to beat up on each other from what I hear. Eaglets are very big on "survival of the fittest", apparently.

I was just watching video and mom fed the second one several pieces and the second one was bonking the bigger one several times. She fed both chicks several pieces each.
I think it goes both ways. With the amount of food Dad is bringing right now they could feed 2 more chicks!
Just read that the nest where the big chick died from rat poison and the second egg didn't hatch...bless their hearts, 38 days later she just laid another egg!

I'm so glad that those baby's are being fed now.

Don't everyone take after me with sticks and stones, but eagle babies are so much cuter than parrots babies.
