Pagoda dogwood almost in bloom! A gorgeous small tree with horizontal branching highly recommend ! 4 season tree with it's gorgeous fall reds and berries for birds
Shrimp plant not native but hummingbirds and pollinator love it

Native stunning small tree red buckeye flowers nearly open

I have seen them eat the leaves, which I thought was a bit weird, doesn't seem like the most delicious thing
Quarter loves the seeds/nuts, I don't think any of mine eat the flowers.

You can make tea, syrup or cordial from the bottlebrush. Plenty of recipes online if you have a quick look.

If they've never had leaves or flowers before don't be surprised if they are a bit scared of it at first. Took awhile before my budgies decided it wouldn't eat them now they practically dive on it when I add fresh stuff!

Ahhhhhhh I LOVE these photos!!! I had no idea bottlebrush was in the US! I've only seen it in garden photos of friends that live in Aus!

Love that photo above this. The photo of milkweed blossom I posted is a wild growing plant. They are all pink, but you can purchase seeds of many other colors. I read that they are difficult to start from seed. Last fall just before the freeze I gathered seed pods and like mother nature I spread them in the wind all around the building. We will see if it works later on.

These are African iris I think? They were planted by previous owners and every once in awhile they come back and flower!!

Oh I would love purple wild ones,!! Look at that deep color!!!
Azaleas make me happy! They are so lovely
