Almost looks like milkweed blooms that smell so sweet.
Yes! Was is just called common milkweed? When I was a kid , Used to be everywhere growing, sides if the road .....then humans decided was bothersome weed. Sprayed to eradicate it.......I've not seen it in decades

I have been encouraging people to plant milkweed. Got a few free seeds and bought some. We have some growing along the edge of the woods but it cant spread because of all the weeds. Last fall i gathered most seed pods when they were ready to blow in the wind and spread many seeds around the buildings. Even if one took hold i would be happy.

I've seen my first monarch lsy egg's
The next generation will head to my northern friends! It's really neat to think ones born here might be ones you see in your yard!

PS, milkweed plants also have milkweed beetles! Their numbers are dwindling due to the lack of milkweed plants.
Yes!
I discovered a more northern than previous thought in Florida kind, that might be a cross or new subspecies. Collected and sent out DNA ..... taking forever for experts to determine boo

Pollinator way stations , pollinator backyard patches connect migrations.

While this short clip doesn't highlight that , missed opportunity! It does talk the incredible migration of butterflies, and interconnectedness. Kinda an add for airline going electric. But cool I didn't even know that was in the works .
