The second day with Cinderella my body feels so weak and sore. Boy I must be out of shape for handling a 3 year old child. Last night she jumped up on the stove top (electric). I have been checking all over the apartment for potential safety issues and never thought of that. She is always at my feet, even when I am cooking so after I was finished cooking a veggie burger I covered the burner with something. Put a little collar on her today because of her interest in what is beyond the door. I am off to take a hot shower so my body will feel better.

She is always moving so its difficult to get photos. Here is one from last night when she was getting sleepy and this am.

Thanks everyone for your encouragement. I had a good nights sleep last night and woke up about 8 am with little feet stepping on me to wake me up. She is eating well, using the litter box as she should and playing every second of the day. Last night I showed her birds on my Ipad and she was trying to find where they flew to in the room. It was just too cute.

I am getting an orange citrus spray for my Christmas cactus plants as she is very interested in them. I hope it works for those times I am not home. There is no place in this apartment she cannot go. Even the top of the refrigerator is not off limits. She is waving to you inone of them.

She is home with me now. Following me every step i take. I need to be careful i dont step on her or fall over her. She is facinated by me bird clock that gives a bird call every hour. Good thing there are no birds in here. Eating and playing with new toys no problem. Even had visitors she cuddled with right away.

PLEASE MAKE SURE you don't trip on her... Really watch your step [and her] for a few days, as you get to know her 'up close and personal'! It's WONDERFUL to have a cuddly buddy... and I'm sure she'll settle in pretty quickly... but just PLEASE don't fall! OK?

I meant to add the collar with a bell... Just so you know where she is!

I don't like being the worrywart, but collars on cats and dogs (when unsupervised) make me as nervous as leg bands on birds. It's been a long while since I lived with a cat -- are all collars breakaway now?

No... they have to list it on the collar info.
Q-- Does she 'squirrel' into confined places? Thought you said you were home quite a bit?

This is one of my big concerns. When I take a step I look down to see where she is and she is always at my feet. Thanks for the reminder.

Traced her history today. Called the first rescue listed in Cecil county maryland. Cinder was found as a stray in Elkton maryland and noted to be nursing a litter of kittens. The kittens were no where near her so if they were still alive they were left. It is a puzzle how they recorded her exact date of birth as 7 11 18.

Maybe she has a microchip from her first home, so they could tell her date of birth.

The chip was put in her in Maryland as was the spay surgery.

Not so sure i like the name i gave her. Cinderella is too long so i am open to suggestions.

No I cannot change her name now, after all because I have the name Cinderella on the microchip and a custom made tag for her collar. Oh well...…
