Moving budgies into new cage!

I have recently bought a much larger cage for my 2 budgies. I’ve put a few perches and toys in there - along with treats to try and entice them in (all of the toys in there they are familiar with and the natural wood perches in there are the same as those in their current cage). They were a bit frightened of it when they were out today and wouldn’t go to it - we had left the new cage next to their current one in hopes that they’d get used to it but they are predominantly spending their time on the side of the cage away from the new one.
Are there any tips of how to get them used to this new cage faster or any ideas of how to get them comfortable?

Welcome to AA! I'm not sure what to do to entice them further, but am sure others will be. :)

If you put the old cage beside the new one they will most likely keep going into the familiar one. I would take the old cage away to another place outside of their view. It wont take them long if you have the same toys and perches in the new cage.

Have you read out safety sub forum about toys? !! Dangerous toys list !!

I think that sounds like a good idea, I’ll probably leave it near them for a few more days so they don’t feel scared and then do that :)

Nice big cage. Those small cages just make for bored budgies.
I put the newspaper over the grate in layers. Makes for easier cleaning as the top layer gets removed when soiled with no effort the next layer of paper is ready.
