Hello!
I want to buy regular cork boards to make toys out of them for my birds (from the dollar store). Are they safe?

I don't trust anything from the dollar stores for my birds.
There's warnings that even for children, the toys may not be safe.

Is cork safe? Anyone use wine corks? Was saving some but never tried for fear. Better safe than sorry.
Penny loves chewing cardboard but I have read to not give boxes from this year as they could be sprayed by postal service for covid???

I was reading this bird magazine, and I saw a little photo with a bird playing with some toys, which included a wine cork. If I find It, I’ll send a pic. That’s what gave me the idea.

Wine corks and cork boards are natural cork cut into bits with an adhesive used to hold them together. There's no telling what that adhesive is, so it's best to just skip it and only use natural cork.

Found this. I guess all wine corks are not created equal. i do wonder if cheap wine corks with glue affect the wine in a bad way. I guess most of my wine is cheap wine ut I have seen corks that appear to be all real cork. Some champagne etc.
Some corks are clearly plastic type too these days in the cheap wines.

I guess we'll stick with cardboard boxes as they are enough of a mess & better safe than sorry.

:(
