Is chain link strong enough for a macaw?

@Macawnutz @aooratrix @Hankmacaw @JLcribber, and anyone else with insight:

Do you think that stainless chain link would be strong enough to withstand the mighty beak of Taco?

I've been looking at dog runs and chicken coops as possible replacements for his cage, since they're large and sturdy and generally inexpensive (and he's well overdue for an upgrade), but I don't know how safe they'd be for a bird, or how strong. What are your opinions?

Yes, SS is absolutely safe for a Macaw and even Hank couldn't damage his SS cage.

Chain link? Like a chain link fence?

Your going to have to link a picture.
Something like these. In retrospect I should make sure nothing is galvanised.

Oh I have one if those dog ones, everyone kept suggesting I could use it for outside time for Burt but mine is galvanised and the gaps for the sides and roof would be enough for him to either get out or get harmed.
Make sure you double check the material and if possible actually view the cage while it’s set up to look for potential weak spots or problem spots for birds.

Good luck :)

I doubt you will be able to find any "stainless steel" chain link. It's almost exclusively galvanized because it's used outdoors. The 2 inch bar spacing is also bordering on dangerous.

You can get coated chain link but that is easily destroyed by a big bird.
