Hello from Madeleine

This Madeleine and she is a savior, at just a few weeks old fire broke out in the bush where she lived and her family fledged in fear, leaving her to die but she had other ideas and walk out of the fire in Western Australia to find help. Madeleine found me via a rescue group and she is living a happy, very much loved life in the Perth hills among the gum trees. She is the light of my life but oh so much hard work too. Found this forum because I was looking to see if her finding my meds and chewing on my vit c tabs would do her any harm, looks like she will be fine. She is now 12 months old and free ranges our house but I have finally got her sleeping in her own room by herself and going into her room when I need some peace or a time out. This is huge milstone for both of us.

Vitamin C is not bad for a bird, but an excess of anything is not good. I would restrict her access to the Vit C tablets to maybe once a week.

Thanks for your reply, she has just learnt how to fly around corners and through doorways and managed to fly into my bedroom where she found my meds container and helped herself...

We had them wild in NSW. They are sweet birds compared to the Corella in the neighborhood.

She is Western Australian pink and grey galah.
