Hi, so I have a pair of elegant parrots who are currently sitting on 2 eggs which are due to hatch soon and while I know elegant parrots don’t make good companion birds I was wondering if it was possible to co parent them and try to get them somewhat tame? I don’t want to feed the babies or remove them to hand rear, just handle them. How often can I handle the babies? I’m not too worried about how tame they’ll be but I’d still like them to be as tame as they could get without me having to steal them from the parents to hand raise. Also, I first noticed the 2 eggs 7 days ago, and since then no more have been lain, though I’ve noticed the birds continuously mating since then. Is this normal? Do you think they’ll lay more or will there only be 2 babies? This is their first clutch so they are a bit new to this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
