The last couple of weeks I've been frazzled because I only find the banana-shaped pieces from his pellet in his water dish. (Of course the rest are on the floor and everywhere but being digested.) So I sat and watched him a few days ago. I would pretend to type on my computer and I'd look over. He buries his face in his dish (flipping seed and pellets everywhere) and grabs up a single banana-shaped pellet. He maneuvers his way across the cage to his water dish and dips into the dish for a drink. He then eats the banana piece that was in his mouth that is now soft enough to chew. He eats the other pellets and seeds just fine? Nothing's wrong with his beak, he just prefers the bananas as nature intended - soft.:laugh::laugh: What a little goober!

They do pick there favorite color or flavor or shape pellet sometimes.
Have you seen him eat the other shapes? He might just be playing with them.

Yes he eats the other ones, he just likes the banana ones soft for some reason, lol.

There's a few different reasons I don't offer colored pellets... lol

He's starting to show more of his true personality, and it cracks me up!

My budgies and Cooper both prefer the colored ZuPreem pellets over the brown pellets. Both of the make-ups of the pellets I offer are really similar, so I think they just prefer colors lol.

I prefer to offer "colors" in fresh foods! ;)

I've noticed that Zupreem Fruitblend can cause rainbow poops. This can be an issue because if the bird is sick, has internal bleeding, liver failure or something else going wrong, you wont be able to tell if the poops are already an unnatural color.

If they eat Fruitblend but don't poop rainbow colors, where is all that dye going????

Also... I've noticed runny droppings when feeding Fruitblend. Even switching to Zupreem Natural is better! More uniform and healthy droppings.

Feeding a "bland" pellet means that birds can't choose their favorite colors and ignore all the rest. Feeding a "bland" pellet means being able to more accurately determine if there is something wrong with them by observing their droppings.

"Parrot soup" also looks much less disgusting with "bland" pellets! ;)
