Ok so I'll be getting a green cheek in about a month or two, but I'm having a difficult time deciding on a good cage, so is anyone using a specific cage they'd recommend?

Avian Adventures Loro Flight Cage....
Do a search and compare prices. Wayfair used to sell them but they don't seem to be stocking Avian Adventures cages any more.

BTW, welcome to AA and congrats on getting your GCC.

Yes I've seen some avian adventure cages they're pretty nice, but I can't find their site anywhere. Did they go out of business or something?

They were bought out by Midwest Homes for Pets several years ago. They don't sell the cages directly so you have to buy them from other vendors such as Petco, Petsmart, Amazon, etc. Prices can vary so best to compare prices and purchase from a reliable and trustworthy vendor.

Another vote for Avian Adventures Loro!

King's also makes some really nice flight cages, and A&E has a new larger flight too I believe.

Thanks I those are some good cages, but I just thought also, any good vendors ya'll could suggest, places that won't give you a broken cage because I definitely don't want to have to cough up cash for a second cage that'd be a nightmare

I had my green cheek in a 32x21 dometop for years.. I was very happy with it. I prefer to have locking food doors in case someone else ever needs to feed her. Some of the newer "elegant" syle flights have locking food doors, but the older models do not.

If you get a cage through Wayfair and it arrives damaged, they will send you a totally new cage usually. I have received both of my cages second hand, but that was the experience of one of my friends that got a damaged panel.

My two GCCs are in an A&E flight cage. It is good quality for the price but does not have feeding doors. Mine are not cage agressive so it is okay but ideally, I would have liked food doors. They really use the flat top and I have play things set up there.

I've purchased cages from Petco, Petsmart, Wayfair (no more AA cages there), Petsolutions.com and mybirdstore.com. When I had issues they were always resolved. I did call Midwest directly regarding issues with AA cages. Petsolutions.com seems to have closed for now. Found this on their blog:

Wonder if they were bought out.

Oh and while i'm at it, where would be a good place to get safe toys? I know so many things can be bad for birds so what are some companies that abide by good safety standards? (I know this doesn't really relate to cages anymore but I'm a worry wart and only want the best for my baby)

Interesting thread!! I really like AA cages. I have two of them and like them a lot. AA cages are some of the best I've seen in person. That said when I when I was looking for a cage for my cockatiel I was going between Chiquita cage and their flight cage. I choose the Chiquita because I wasn't impressed with how small the door was on the flight cage.

I think its important for a cage to be easy to clean and I thought that small door would be really annoying when it came to cleaning. So curious how people finding it for cleaning? As I would have preferred to buy the bigger cage and the flight cage is bigger than the Chiquita. I still really like the Chiquita thou

Oooohhh so many good venders here. Im at the point where i buy 95% of my toys online. Shipping costs can be annoying but worth it for the quality of the toys you can get. Plus I really like buying from bird free stores, I'm so paranoid about diseases now that I'm more informed since being on this forum

I would highly recommend this cage: https://www.petsupplies.com/item/a-and-e-medium-elegant-bird-cage/533765/
I have it for my green cheek conure, and it works very well. It is quite sturdy, and actually not bad looking in terms of design. Very spacious, with room for tons of toys and perches and still space to play and fly. They now even have a size up from this one, which if you could obtain I would say get it for sure!
If you want pictures of the cage or anything in particular, just let me know :)

They now have the larger 38x24 ... highly recommend. I plan on replacing all of my HQ flights.

Here's a list of all the vendors here, including my own, Lil Monsters Bird Toys. I pretty much only buy toys from vendors on here.

I don't have a major issue with the door size and reaching into the cage. I like the Chiquitas and have 5 of them (would have had more if Petsmart had them in stock when they were selling them for an ultra low price again during Black Friday). The Loro bar spacing is better for a small conure, IMO, but if your 'tiel is OK with the bar sizing then it would probably be OK for a conure. The Loro is a bit larger than the Chiquita.
