So the foot that had bumblefoot initially is still the same, it started getting better, then got worse again, but the foot that I thought was a sore that also turned out to be bumblefoot is nearly completely healed. How's it going with your budgie?
It's only cruel if used improperly. Getting pets accustomed to anything new should be done and reward for the desired response, even if that response is no response at all.I might get a spray bottle, but I think they're cruel
I'll try and give it a go then, I hope he doesn't freak out when I start spraying :SIt's only cruel if used improperly. Getting pets accustomed to anything new should be done and reward for the desired response, even if that response is no response at all.
Start very slow, let the mist come down from above and barely land on him. Don't spray directly, that would likely not go well.I'll try and give it a go then, I hope he doesn't freak out when I start spraying :S
Yeah, absolutely I don't want to spray him in the face, poor baby :SStart very slow, let the mist come down from above and barely land on him. Don't spray directly, that would likely not go well.
Yeah it does, the same as chickens. My vet is an avian specialist so he knows what he's doing, but it's meant he's had to have his feet opened up three times now, must be pretty painful for him because 2 of the times he was conscious.Poor baby! Hope his foot gets better. That sounds rough for the both of you!
With bumblefoot in parrots, does it form a sort of core inside the infection, such as with chickens?
I could give it a try, I do supply a bath, but he just drinks from it lolAlso I've heard of others with budgies giving them wet leafy greens for them to rub against and bathe that way. Perhaps that is something to try.
Yeah, when I was treating him I was worried it would be a long recovery time, grabbing him twice a day for like 8 months would have been horrible, good job it was only like a month and a bit.Yaaaay! Must have been so traumatic for the little guy, so glad he's doing better!
