Hi!
I'm a relatively new parakeet owner. Parry and Bloo are part of my new family! They've been with me for 2 months and a month respectively.
I'm concerned as I just picked them up from my birdsitter who looked after them during spring break, reported that they were furiously eating and were more active than ever. They did seem to be a little more chunky and fluffy. However, when I brought them home, they didn't gain weight but actually lost some, from 37g and 40g to 28g and 29g.
After spending some time at home, they returned to their normal sizes but I'm highly concerned bout one of them as she was molting a fair bit and now has black poop. I read that it could be an intestinal problem or because they weren't eating enough. I'm just going to monitor them for now and see whether these problems were due to a change of environment. But any feedback would be awesome.
Thanks!
