Urgent Bird attacked by cat

Yesterday, a random stray cat slipped in my house and attacked my green cheek conure. I heard my bird struggling and went to look upstairs (where I keep him), and see the cat biting a huge chunk of feathers off my bird’s back. I yelled and the cat ran off, I picked up my bird and cuddled him for a while. My bird survived overnight but has only eaten maybe 5 sunflower seeds, and dranken 7 sips of water. He is very lathargic. His symptoms include constant fluffing and shivering, sleeping with two legs down, barely moving, weakness (unable to hold a seed), and sleeping all day. What should I do?

You need to get him to the vet ASAP....actually NOW. Cat saliva is toxic to birds and he might also have internal injuries. Please take him to the vet!!
Hope things will be OK with him.

If the cat punctured the skin infection can set in quite quickly and yes toxic to bird.
How the heck did a stray cat slip in in the first place and upstairs? Rule in my house is to close doors behind you, (screen or regular door) make make sure it's tight. I get on everybody that comes and goes from my house and I'm no mr. Nice guy about it, they learn, or they get it worse next time around when I go off.

I am keeping you and your GCC in my thoughts.

You would be surprised how they slip in. We have stray cats all over the dang place where I live and we had one try to walk into my home last year like he lived there. They sit at my sliding glass door waiting for us to open the door. It's so freaky and I don't know why they started trying to get into my home. We have never had anything like this happen until last year. Just this morning a big white cat was just chillin out in front of my door waiting. I think it was the one my husband had me chase off a month or two ago.

That's why I have a dog, .....maggie go chase the puddy....! Haven't seen a cat around my place in a while. There used to be one big fat coon cat that came around here....just let my dog Maggie out which can do 0-60 in a blink of an eye. She won't hurt the cat, wants to play with them. But cat doesn't know that and runs like a deer when it sees dog!!!lol.
