His breathing seems decently normal, and his tail is at more of a flutter. He's napping on his sleep perch by his heat lamp right now.

I can't stop crying

And yes, he still eats but not as much

I'm so scared that we're nearing the end

Chirp just woke up, he's eating and he nibbled on a toy a bit.

It makes me feel slightly better but I'm still so scared for him

I don’t have words... just hugs. You have done an amazing job with Chirp. You’ve hung in there when many teens would have given up. Your dad, too, has put so much into this little guy.

Hang in there. Along with love, sometimes we have to deal with loss.

Oh Bee, I’m so very sorry that you and Chirp are going through this. I don’t know why life has to be so hard sometimes, but I do know that Chirp couldn’t ask for a more dedicated and loving family to help him through this, and I’m sure he knows it.

I totally understand how your insides feel during periods like this, when you discover another layer to Chirp's battle. Crying is what we do at moments like that.

Understandable. It's because you care. Before MC's surgery, I was there also. It's a place that none of us want to be but all of us WILL be some day because we CARE.

I'm so very proud of you for that fact. I know it is painful for you, but you're proving love is the most important thing.
