Thank you Marie & Leza.:hug8: Today I will be removing the little tupperware container, and those plants will go in planters. There are three crinum natans in that container. Each plant can grow HUGE!
I need one more name, for the little orange ranchu. I lost the red/wht ranchu.:( I was going to give the orange one away to the woman who took the other freebie, but she has not contacted me, so he will stay. I did not want to have too many, and he was a freebie too. I am presently treating them all for flukes with Prazi-pro. I think this is the mysterious disease that keeps killing them. It is the only thing I have not treated them for, and still I am losing them. Since going into the 90, I am seeing classic signs of flukes-yawning, staying near surface, bottom sitting, and an occasional flick of the fins...as if trying to shake something off. I will be doing four rounds of treatment. Water test this morning proves the Dr. Tim's and seeded media bags worked to skip a complete cycle. Still no ammonia, and a tad more nitrates. No nitrites.

So sorry to hear you lost your new ranchu. Hope the Prazi-pro kicks the flukes butts once and for all. :whip:

Well, flukes it is..IMO. I just lost the little orange one. All the freshwater articles on flukes says you cannot see them. That they are microscopic. This has not been my experience with heavily infested fish. With saltwater fish we would do a freshwater dip, and the flukes would emerge from under their scales. They look like tiny potato chips. I added the rest of the prazi pro I had an hour or so ago.{waiting on big bottle to arrive} and the flukes started emerging from under his scales like crazy. He just could not breathe, there were so many.:(
Say a prayer I have caught it in time for the rest of them.
Thanks for the nice compliments.
I am not sure of the music Judy. When you put a video on YT you can swap the audio. All of the artists are unknown names from what I can see.

Ordered a UV sterilizer yesterday, to arrive from Sarasota. It should be here Monday. I am hoping this is the answer to the ich and also the clarity of the tank. It has been a bit cloudy the last few days. This should clear that up and kill the pathogens and protozoa.

I didn't know you've been having so many troubles with your Goldies. :( I'm very sorry for all your losses Carole. :(

We use a UV sterilizer for the turtle rehabilitation tanks at the sanctuary. It's fantastic! I hope it solves all your problems!

Thank you Kelsey.:hug8: It has been very very disheartening. I spoke with Steve in HI in some e-mails. I told him I eventually want to try again, for a nice big Oranda. He gave me some tips on what he would do. He told me to bleach all of my qt equipment, and not to cycle it if I bring in a new one. He said just do daily 50% water changes. If I do try again, I am going to wait until I have the main tank back in control and established.
