Well, while reading this morning I believe I have found what my problem has been all along with the new fish. While I do believe ich was in part responsible, I have been reading about a parasite I am not familiar with-it's called Costia{[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular] Ichthyobodo}.
The fish will most likely need to be removed back to qt.[/FONT]

Well I can not say with certainty, as the only way to be certain is to do a skin scrape, and look at it under a microscope. For Costia, it would have to be 400X magnification just to see it!
I was just thinking something other than just ich seems to be going on. The other day, the panda telescope had bright red specks all on his side. Today, none!
Either way, recommended treatment is the same for the parasites. I like in the article that Marie linked, that it states that raising the temp and the use of aquarium salt, is best before trying meds. I agree.
It also reminds us that Formalin{often used} can cause cancer. I believe any med with formalin is banned in CA. Why are they so smart?

New guy coming Friday and going straight to QT for 6-8 weeks at least. Wish me better luck. He has what looks to be 'breeding stars' on his gill plates, so I am going with this as being a male. I need a good name. He is going to be my b-day present to me.

Thanks Marie. Normally not a calico fan, but this guy seems different. More of a tricolor, his coloring is just beautiful I think. He just kept calling to me with that silly face he is making. I should never have gone and looked at the new fish in. I just couldn't help myself. I just have to keep with the plan.

Thank you so much Matt. I am planning to be super extra careful not to cross contaminate this time. Washing hands between the qt and main tank, using separate equipment, etc. Everything will have been bleached before he goes in Friday.

I called and the guy was so nice. He said he has been doing his job for 4+ years. The package is now in Memphis, and to him it seemed like it was progressing as it should. Hopefully it will be fine. He alerted them just in case, that this is a VIP.
