Reading through all this is very sad and, once again, I am very sorry for your loss. You did the best you could, as you already know. I'm very surprised they told you that you could not rent or get oxygen. I had a dog who had a progressive congenital respiratory disease and was told that if and when necessary I could get oxygen and create an "oxygen tent" for him. BUT then maybe different regulations for where you live or maybe just mis-information from the vet staff.
