Sid V. he has gotten into his snits a few times, but I lecture him and he settles. He starts this flashy, eye pin and tail fanning and that noise they make, so I know right away he is good to go.


The place that was thinking of adopting them thought they were two WPR rescues, so they are no longer interested PHEW

Lucys can be a bit overpowering sometimes especially when she is sitting on my shoulder.
I'll tell her, wooo girl you smell strong and she'll do her kissing sound and say pretty girl.

I try to give my two a shower once a week. Currently I take their travel cages into the yard and mist them with the garden hose. Secret loves this way (not thrilled about bathroom shower mist).

I spray them every day, they love it!

Sid V. has refuses to go into his cage, so he sleeps outside on the play top every night.
Husband just went in there and Sid started his pre attack dance. I had to hustle him out quick, it would be awful if he tried to assassinate the bread winner!

Amazons tend to stink if they are stressed or sick or haven't bathed for a while. They may still be stressed from the move. Otherwise, you might try taking a hard look at their diet. Make sure they have plenty of vitamin A rich veggies for good skin health.

Get senior nutriberries. My two take them as a treat (I call them breakfast).

Can also try to dribble a tiny bit of palm oil on pellets. My guys like red bell peppers and get about an 1/8 each day.

Our feathers were horrible but much better now.

Sounds like Sid and Secret were cut from same cloth. Good thing our hubbies love us.

Then start pushing the veggies. I've also found a really good sprout mix works well with amazons instead of pellets. Consistently if I take sprouts out of the diet for a period of time and then add them back, I see the feather quality change.

The smell of a nice, clean Amazon that loves you is truly addicting. When Paco lets it out I say "ooooh, Paco does the flowers for Mama, " and more comes. I actually bury my nose in his neck feathers... Sounds crazy to do with a DYH but the smell to me is intoxicating and our trust is high. Get that flower smell and you will sign the adoption papers......
