He's such a good boy. :( There was no need for this at all.

Ugh, really? Is it supposed to look like a ragged curve like his does?

I am just so sad for him. He's an absolute sweetheart who doesn't need this in his life

I'm starting to wonder if the trim isn't contributing to his landing issues. Sometimes, he'll "trip" and land on his chest.
These are the feathers they usually cut away:

I think it could very well be contributing to his landing issues, I think they use the secondaries to ‘brake’? Not sure but that is the way I always thought of it, that they use they tail and wings with a sort of parachute effect:D

He is such a sweet and beautiful boy:heart:

Bull's behavior is getting worse. I spent an hour looking for him only to just barely find him under a dresser. Poor little guy hates being alone in his cage. He was quiet as the grave until I found him.

I just don't know what to do... If I hadn't found him, one of the dogs could have gotten him if he ever decided to come out.

Life is not fair...especially for birds!!!!

His wings will grow as long as they did not cut his bones which sadly I have also heard...

He'll get around with gimpy feet...just something he will never know any different & lots of blind crippled people in this world who want to be here despite there handicaps!

Don't let him out unsupervised, so he can't "hide."

Yeah... it'll suck, since it will disrupt the pre-bedtime routine we have, where I let them enjoy their last bit of free time together (with frequent check-ins), but it's better than not keeping him safe.

I'm going to try and move Triss and Steven in with him as well. He usually hides between their cage and the wall at bedtime. I'm not sure if he fell or was hiding there deliberately (their cage is directly over where I found him), but either way he wound up there, possibly trying to stay together with them.

Poor Bull, this sounds familiar to what I was dealing with with Maiboch after Daffy died.
She become obsessed with Porter and wouldn't leave him alone.

Maiboch had to be seperated from Porter to the other side of the room, she got a specialized cage that fit her every OSD requirement until she wasn't jealous... and she got about fifteen bells to ring.

The little silly is obsessed with bells.

I'll get her a new friend when I have my own home again... until then she just has to make due with spending extra time with me, doing flight improvement lessons and playing with her bells.

I wish Bull would enjoy his people time or just playing with his things. I hate seeing him like this.

@Porter bells are a good idea. I'll try to get him a few hanging ones.

He's still sweet with Steven, though. 20180614_171343.jpg
And Goku's so handsome. I had to rescue him from the hallway. He missed a landing and slid down the wall and plopped on the floor.

Garets flock makes me want a lovie. The cage would be perfect on top of my budgie flight cage. :wacky:

Oh gosh. :roflmao: It's hard keeping lovies and budgies! My little blue gal thinks she can take on Triss. She can't, of course, but she loves going on toe patrol.

Pikachu just wants to kiss all the lovebirds, which can cause a different sort of argument.

Anyways this thread title is no longer a lie... And everything is right again. It's been a long time since I've seen Bull so active and happy. He's started preening himself again and actually spent time on his cage with her.

She just had her bi-annual check up with an avian specialist. A doctor Lupu, if anyone knows him.

Tl;dr: Kids decided they didn't want the responsibility and she was picking on a tiel who was bonded to a tiel she had the hots for.

 And she has a clip nearly as bad as Krem's. They basically grounded her to keep her from the tiel's.

I've heard of folks using those pool noodles to keep dogs from getting their toys lost underneath furniture. If you cover the noodles with fabric (so they won't be tempted to chew the foam), would that keep inquisitive beaks from getting lost?

Hmm, it might work for the rear of the dressers, at least. The front is another issue, since they're low arches.

Hmmm.... maybe adhesive velcro and some thick cloth to make a taut "skirt"? I dunno how well it'd keep the stinkers out.

Is Bull with a new lovebird? I took this to mean he's taken to the new blue budgie. :think1:

I know right?? My only lovie experience was quite negative but this makes me want one as well.

Oh I bet they’d love to mess with a skirt! Haha!
