Awww I am so inspired ! I noticed your table in another thread and had a lightbulb moment. So yesterday i removed my Grandmother's rocking chair from the bird room and put in a table. I put a basket of food, one with toys, and a perch and released the hounds...errr...fids. They were not impressed but the parrotlet hung down near it to eat the millet. I predict he will be first to go there. I showed them how to drop a ball into a cup. They thought i was quite clever.

Also ordered a bball hoop. Sorry not going to hijack your thread, just got excited.

I'm not any more special than anyone else here. I never claim to be fabulous at what I do... I just learned the hard way and my parrots taught me right from wrong. The number of parrots I've taught is unique, I've seen so many scenarios and every bird learns differently. Owners know their parrots best but sometimes they can't step back to see the bigger picture.

The props are just the beginning. You are teaching more than you realize. They will pick up your body language in addition to the words and cues. My guys pick up their own foot toys and put them in the crap box, they will help me grab things out of my reach, I can ask Korbel "where is your ball?" and he will go find it.

I love your response Sarah! You are amazing and so generous with your time and very effective advice. First thing J&C did this morning was fly to the table and demand training! JoJo did skates and then they both played basketball for a bit.

let's both work on JoJo and Joey's attention span! JoJo always ends up on Jackson's cage which is a no no. There are seeds in that cage, I'm quite sure that's what he's aiming for! Seeds trump walnuts! What distracts Joey?
