Today marks 100 days of feeding baby Adélie. She is 105 days old now. She is flying, experimenting with new foods but eating formula for breakfast and before bedtime.
Tonight we have gone to a new place together to babysit my baby nephews, ie watch TV in my parents holiday flat. She has explored, flown a little and is now beak grinding in the nook of my neck as I type :)
She is such a lovely bird, I am truly blessed ❤

I didn't realize she was still a baby!
She is now 107 days old.. so 3 and a half months
She grew very slowly so she only got to try some adult food 2 weeks after her siblings.

what a beauty! what color is she?
Violet edged dilute
Last night when I fed her I could see her brow darkening already. She will have a big molt in a month or two into her adult plumage.

It´s day 112...

I was hoping she would be weaned before my birthday so I could get drunk but obviously that´s not going to happen :meh:

But she is just the cutest. I love the little cheeps she makes while preening my face!❤
Although I do not care for her forraging in my nose, trying to stuff her beak up there.

She´s not fitting in the flock well, but it is what it is :(

She loves to play, beads and bells are her favourites. She will lay on her back and play with the bells on her swing :)
She also really loves her wooden tunnel. She hides under it like the troll from 3 billy goats gruff.

I love holding her and kissing her, something like this (without the flicking her away lol) :roflmao:

I just can´t stop kissing her... I´m addicted!!❤

Just rolling into day 116

Adelies weight before her second feeding was 46g.
After feeding 57g.

I feed her ´til she pulls back. She eats more or less the same amount every day, both morning and night.

At this point in time I´m just hoping she weans in time for Christmas...:santacookie:

She was 17 weeks old on saturday just gone. The days I mentioned are days handfeeding, so plus the 5 she was fed by her parents.

That's a big bird....
Yes I agree.
Previous siblings, Lapis and Nube got as heavy as about 53g before dropping to 44g for fledging and now are 46g at 8 months old.
I think it is because she is older.
This may also explain why she is a helicopter and not an aeroplane.
Adelies siblings from the same clutch all weaned the first week of February.

Yes, they really do. She looks very well. She is getting her nutrients from formula. I´m using Nutribird A21.

It´s a dog carrier so there´s no perch. But it´s ok. It´s about the size for a chihuahua or small yorkshire terrier.
I posted some pictures of Sydney in it on my birthday Pictures - A perfect afternoon | Avian Avenue Parrot Forum you can see inside that it is long. It weights nothing so good for me to carry while I take Sydney out in the harness hiking the mountain.

You can always put a perch in there. This was Loki's original carrier. Then I upgraded her to my boys carrier. Think the first one was a small critter carrier and the backpacks are for small dogs or puppies. Just added perches to all of them with large washers on the side to increase surface area, less strain on the mesh.

Thanks @DoubleTake . The mesh is 2mmx2mm... So I´ll see if I can find a screw narrow enough to attach... or did you cut the mesh a little?

If you end up breaking a little bit of the mesh it's OK because the washers(inside and out)holds everything together real tight and covers the whole. I can take a picture when i get off work if you want. I would just make sure the screw is small enough for the branch, so you dont split the branch when screwing it in. Also that the screw fits the washer hole well, so the head of the screw can lock the washers in place.
