Nice photos!
Thanks!!!
You are so lucky to have them so close to you! I live on the lower floors of my building, so we never have them near us. They do go into the balconies on the higher floors though :D
And they're adorable!!! :awww:

Here in the Netherlands they are increasing in numbers. Most of the lager cities have them now. They are considered pests, as they drive native birds away and destroy vegetation. They somehow are able to survive our winters and reproduce. I can not help myself though, I like seeing them fly around freely.

How are they coming though, are people releasing them? Also yes, most parrots here are found in urban cities, because they find climate suitable (I live in one too ;))

@Mauraun some species are resourceful and find opportunities surprisingly easily. Monk parrots are another great adapter which has caused them to be outlawed in some US states. Lots of parrots can handle some cold weather and as long as they can find food.

On the subject of cold weather cockatoos have the ability to cover their entire beak and fluff to amazing sizes to handle the cold. It can drop to 5c at night and will warm to 20c during the day in winter. Even colder and hotter temp swings in the outback. It is a pretty big temp swing. Parrots are amazing birds.

I think part of the reason they became invasive is because people assumed they couldn't or wouldn't survive the winter and thus let go their unwanted pets instead of finding new homes.. not understanding that they are very intelligent problem solvers who can handle some cold.
