Pictures What are your birds eating today?

I’ve added dried organic flowers from this small Canadian shop. So the birds are getting brócoli sprouts, bell pepper, green apple, dandelion greens, sprinkle of quinoa, chia seeds, tiny piece of Brazil nut, freeze dried strawberry and the flower mix. It has rose hips, rose petals, calendula, chamomile, dandelion root and peppermint.

Though at the moment my pigeon prefers trying to eat this Little Rock smh!

Appears today is "salad" day... lack of colorful veggies
2 or 3 different lettuces, Pak Choi, green capsicum, two different zucchinis, broccoli, cucumber, and some grape for the big guys.

That looks great. Do you have to cook okra for birds or can you feed it raw?

I didn't take photos all weekend but my birds basically got the same stuff they got the rest of the week been relying on frozen veggies a lot as things have been hectic around here.

Frozen mixed veggies, butternut squash, kale, sprouts (loving this Lil Birds mix from Sprout People!), some of the "beet chop", and Pomegranate and Pistachio oatmeal from Christine's Chop Shop

Yes, they have probably the most selection of any site I've seen! I've had good luck with Amber Waves of Grain before, too. This time I got the Lil Birds mix and a Leafy Sprouts sampler

Here's their dinner - they're used to roudybush crumbles but I'm adding the bigger ones and if they like them I can use them in foraging toys

Opie also gets Harrisons but for now Cotton doesn't since I'm trying to see if peanuts are an issue for him. If not I'll try the Hagen pellet with no corn/soy. Just ruling out food sensitivities with his plucking even though it's not very likely.

My no-waste solution - Maynard gets anything the birds don't eat, slightly steamed. Anything she doesn't eat the outdoor wildlife gets along with pellet crumbs and uneaten seeds from my visiting cockatiel

I've definitely reused some of the birds' uneaten veggies for myself too when there aren't seeds/pellet crumbs mixed in, just mixed in with my dinner

I think there’s a rice only Harrison’s bird diet now, if you are interested.
Jasper is going to try their pepper- flavored coarse diet, and I think I’ll try those as treats for Willow. He thinks he should have a treat every time he comes out.

Weirdly I cook and prep for my dog and birds..
Meanwhile I grab a sandwich or a slice of cheap grocery store frozen pizza for myself...

I need some sprouts for my pad Thai kit. Maybe I will just sprout them! I wonder how long it would take. Bean sprouts in the market are pretty big.

I love the Lil Bird and Mid Bird mixes. I buy 2 lbs each and mix them together to sprout. Which sprouter do you use? The easy sprouter?

That sounds like a good idea! I don't go through sprouts that quickly was my only hesitation with buying more!

I've never seen a rice Harrison's; Roudybush has one that is called "Low Fat Maintenance"

Depends on what all I need. I'm in the US and fairly remote so I buy almost exclusively online.
