Walking the driveway
Hello, all.
I feel the need to post a welcome, as I haven't posted here in almost a year and a half.
My 11 year old cockatiel Clementine, who had been my sunshine, died over the summer. It wasn't completely unexpected, as she has had health problems for years, but I'd hoped we'd have a few more years. She died in my husband's hands after having a seizure in her cage. She had liver disease.
We rescued a conure, who I thought was a Jenday but now I think is a Sunday, two years ago. He's been a handful, but he is 100% worth it. He is my special guy. Unfortunately he is still scared of EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD EXCEPT ME, but as long as he can snuggle with me, we're a-okay.
On Christmas Eve, we very unexpectedly rescued a cockatiel, who I have named Charlie. He came with the name "Two Piece", and I just couldn't keep that name. Charlie has some special needs, as he has pretty bad arthritis and generally poor health.
I've decided that I really need to get back into the online bird community. I have started a blog to chronicle my adventures in rehabilitating Charlie: charliebird and me. I could really use support and guidance, so I'd like to make my presence known and make some friends who are in similar boats. So, I'm baa-aack!
