YOU STILL HAVEN'T SPILLED?!?!
Of course not! This is much too fun! :laughing9:
But there technically is enough clues for people to figure it out if they want to.

Not everyone would make a good detective. Have a little mercy on the rest of us! :cantsee:
More clues will come when the time gets closer. I will admit I've told one extra person since I started this thread, cause they were helping me with a few things.

Here with an update!
After having difficulty communicating via email I got a phone call from the breeder today. If I remember correctly they said there is three babies in the clutch, they have fledged but it's not likely they'll be able to get the DNA tests processed over the Christmas period. So I am on the contact list and we're probably looking at some time in January :cheer:
It's nice to finally have some kind of time frame.

Cause I'll feel bad not leaving a hint the next clue is...
There has not been a correct guess on this thread yet. (With the exception of NEVRM0RE_ I did not/have not unraveled that first guess :o:)

I'm really happy for you, AB! I haven't made a true guess on this thread. And I won't.

I'm just going to patiently wait for photos :)

I'm going to venture another guess, having consulted the list of parrot species on Wikipedia. This is totally unscientific. I don't quite understand the clues. So, I just thought to myself, 'What kind of parrot might Aussiebird want?', bearing in mind the need for a DNA test & what other species AB houses. On account of the latter, I knocked off all the New World species... though that may prove to be a mistake, given that I don't know about what housing options are available.

Here's my list!
  • Hooded Parrot
  • Scarlet-Chested Parrot
  • Australian King Parrot
  • Superb Parrot
  • Eclectus
  • Cockatiel
  • Yellow-Tailed Black Cockatoo

Must be exciting! Can't wait to find out what bird it is, I'm guessing you're getting some sort of bigger parakeet???(such as a plum head or alexandrine etc.)

You're kinda on the right track, this bird does fall under the Old world umbrella!
I am going to gather up all the current hint and post them together.

Tip for people guessing: No big birds (cockatoo, Macaw, etc.)
For those curious as to why I am going with a breeder, I have never once seen one of these bird come up in a rescue and only once did I see someone rehoming (a breeding pair). ETA: I have also seen one for sale in a petshop now.
Summits :yodel:
This maybe counts as a hint??
Is there a certain reason you want to know if it’s a he/she head colour maybe :lol:
Hmmm... what if I said no? :angel2:

Other things to note:
  • Waiting on DNA, so you cannot tell gender... at this age.

Well, the first image in your 'clue roundup' is a plumhead, yet you say that it hasn't been guessed in this thread yet. And plumheads have been guessed several times.

So....somebody needs to clear up their clues! :watching:

What about one of those crazy looking budgies, with the wild feathers? I don’t know what they’re called… they’ve all got crazy hair though! Like a silkie chicken, but parakeet sized.
