Urgent Vetafarm Probiotic dosage bird digestive issue

My ringneck is weak after antibiotic treatment and now has digestive issues. Can i give some digestive enzyme with probiotic ? And what should be the probiotic dosage? Can it be given everyday?

I know the probiotics are fine but I’m not sure if they should be given with the digestive enzymes.

If you have no vet then I’m guessing you didn’t get the antibiotics via a vet? The problem with administering antibiotics from over the counter or without vets prescription is that not all antibiotics are suitable to fight all infections or illnesses.

I have given both Kitty and Jasper probiotics and prozyme together for ages. That is one of the standard treatments for PDD birds and birds that have digestive issues such and severe atherosclerosis.

There is no set dosage - my vet said to scatter a pinch over their food. Now neither he nor I know the scientific measurement of a pinch. Take a 1/4 teaspoon and use about 1/2 of that. There is no danger nor downside you cannot over dose. With probiotic you can give too much and the active ingredients will overwhelm the natural flora. I'd give the probiotic no more than once every two days.

LOL - in 25 years of owning GW macaws, I have never had a bird that didn't have a serious chronic illness. You will just have to play it by ear - watch and interpret.

She’s also having respiratory issues. Panting after flying a bit. I’m scared to give any other medicine it might react with probiotic.
