Here are a few pictures of Fiddle's adventure. The first one is DH looking at the ground. The extention ladder is 14 feet; he climbed another 20 feet. The rest are Fiddle exploring his temporary new world. He has been more nippy than usual this evening. I guess he is still a little stressed.

Fiddle sure looks like he had the time of his life, though! Now, Fiddle, this is a ONE OFF adventure!!! Please don't do that again!!!

PS: Hope your leg heals quickly! I know how frustrating it is not being able to move (broke my ankle 5+ months ago)

A brief update: Fiddle seems to be back to his sweet cuddly self today. Thanks again, to all for your prayers and concerns.

BF: After the ordeal was over, DH went and soaked in the tub for a bit. He said that this was the highest he had ever climbed -- and all for a 'dumb duck'. LOL

Tell DH that that "dumb duck" made him (DH) a HERO in a lot of others eyes! And HE learned he could do it!

He is a retried Fire Fighter who has high angle recue training. This is the third bird he has rescued. One was a real call to the fire department (a mccaw, I think) the other two were our birds.

Eeek? So this has happened twice?

Time to re-evaluate your plan on keeping the birds inside and safe. You may have to add another door between them and the outside.

My husband actually broke his back saving Sunny and will now have a lifetime of pain due to the fracture (he is fine other than the back pain). We have completely changed our lives and have never allowed our guard to slip again.

Kristi, we are re-evaluating our plan. Actually it was our fault both times; we just got too close to the door while they were on us.

I am planning on getting a harness for them. Thanks for your concern, and I sure hope you husband is not in too much pain.
