It’s my first time housing a GCC and I just recently brought him home. It’s been about 3 days and I notice that every day once it’s starts to get dark out he starts getting very restless in his cage. He will pace around and scream and won’t sit still until I take him out. He’s either pacing or at the bottom of his cage ripping his paper. I can’t take him out because my living room and kitchen are connected and my mom is cooking and it could be dangerous for him to be out. I put him in around 6:30 and take him out at 8:30 and that whole time he doesn’t sit or play with his toys. He will occasionally go to eat and drink but even then he is pacing back and forth to and from his food bowl. Once I take him out he sits on my shoulder and snuggles in my hair and sleeps. Should I be worried about this behaviour? Is there anyway I can make him feel more comfortable to be in his cage during the evening?
