My parakeet, Alright, is missing a whole nail on his right toe(?). I never noticed this before. He doesn't seem to be in pain or plucking any feathers out. Should I take him to the vet? What reasons could he have for not having a nail?? am i overthinking this?:starscfe:I haven't seen this before! 1650841354974.png

Any toys it could have gotten stuck on?? I’ve never seen one of my budgies toenails fall out before

Do you know for sure he had them all when you got him? Sometimes cage mates or mom and dad will cause injuries that lead to the tip of the toe falling off.

Otherwise, other birds, pets, trauma, getting stuck in a rope, etc, can all cause it. If it doesn't smell, seem to hurt, bleed, or look necrotic, then a vet likely isn't necessary at this point.
