New Bird Owner

Greetings all!

I am now the proud new companion of two beautiful parakeets. I bought them from PetSmart (I know, I'm a horrible person), as I just couldn't wait for my local bird shop to restock them.
I have yet to name them, and I am currently taking suggestions.
It took quite a while to get them into their new cage, which involved flying around my kitchen for about an hour before finally (and reluctantly) perching on my finger long enough to get both of them in there.

One is white with gray flourishing, and one is yellow with blue. They're so pretty I can barely stand it.

If anyone has any tips or pointers on caring for these beautiful babies, please feel free to share as I've never had bird friends before.

I'm new to this site and birds myself, so just learning too!

One thing I have learned is that the bells on toys are *usually* not the best. They can be made of toxic metals, have sharp edges, or the dangly part get ingested.

There are many tips on Budgie Boulevard, but I personally like the tip to use moving paper as the cage paper best. It looks nice, is cheap & comes in large packages. As for name suggestions, something intellectual for the green budgie. That looks like one smart budgie. Something wintery for the grey one.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I eventually came up with the names Luna (for the grey), and Sol (for the yellow and blue). I will be sure to take those cheap bells off of the toys, as my girls don't seem to like them much in the first place.
