another simple perch with ladder and toy, I keep this one on my dresser on the opposite wall from their cage. It helps them land someplace safe.

Foraging box wall! Okay, this is one of those fancy random box shelving walls that I’ve always wanted to buy for my self, buuuut I’ve never want to send the money or the time to build one. Enter budgies, and now I built a mini box unit to encourage foraging. It’s been 30 Minutes and they have both explored some of the boxes. I love it, they love it, it’s a success.

basic plan, I used popular wood of 1 1/2” and 2” widths to add some depth. I used 4 linear feet of 1 1/2” and only 1’ of 2” popular.

i used kiln dried pine for the backing. I used a dremal to carve some texture into the shelves, to keep seeds and stuff from rolling out.

I love it, it turned out great! So will you fill some of the boxes with things for Yuki and Akiko to shred and forage through?

Yup! I have a box with egg carton wedged in it, I just wanted them to poke around in it first so they know there’s good stuff in it. I plan to add egg carton pieces in most of them
