Sorry to hear about your situation.

If Ottawa is closer than Montreal this hospital sees exotics & is a 24-7 emergency. They do excellent work.

Alternatively, find a rescue or long time breeder in the area. Many of them are comfortable helping with minor situations.

Also, you can ask a local vet to liaise with an exotic vet. My rabbit vet does this. The closest board certified rabbit vet is in Montreal. I'm not driving in MTL! So, when it's needed for an extra fee, my vet liaises over the internet.

There's also a board certified avian vet in Ottawa. Maybe your vet could call them & do a tele-appointment.

Sorry for offending you, I’ll look into it. I don’t know what to do, so it really is difficult for me. I’m sorry if you think I’m a disgusting person or that my thoughts are wicked. I just really want to help them, but I also have to consider other factors such as money, transport and time.
I am not offended, I also do not think you are a disgusting or wicked person, please do not think that is what I think. I completely understand your problem factors- I have them too, so do many other forum members. Best wishes for a speedy pain free recovery for your bird.

Thank you! I hope they do recover too.

I don’t know what type of lovebird she even is
Roseicollis (Peach-faced lovebird)

It is not something I would ever consider ingesting so there is not a chance in the world I would give it to my bird.
Same. My vet did use a silver spray topically on Pepper the wild dove after his crop surgery but it was something he did (and repeated at check ups) and I didn´t do that at home nor give it orally.

@Zblurt How did you get on tracking down a chicken farmer/farmer vet to help? That was a good suggestion. Sparkles left some info above too. Hopefully you can find someone to help you. Remember, it´s like Shawna said, you don´t need a specialist because it´s just basic first aid care you need.

And to state the obvious, I would separate these two for good at this point. Revisit in 6 months or so to see what the situation is like. Remember to transition. Let them live in their own cages and just have access to each other during flight time, don´t house them together as soon as they seem ok.

Hello! It’s been a while! Both of them recovered perfectly fine.
They have been definitely separated as suggested and can interact with each other when outside their cage. We caught them mating and we most likely gender swapped them, we renamed them Pêche (Rico) and Snow (Coco). Oh and Pêche is not afraid of bare skin anymore! Snow is still quite aggressive, but he’s getting better. For the farmer idea, it didn’t work, but I’m happy they’re healthy now. Here’s a few recent pictures:
