I got lovebirds a about 3 months ago and when I came back home a few minutes earlier, my lovebird Rico seemed to be injured severely. I’ve never been able to touch him with my fingers, yet I can and he doesn’t seem to be wanting to move. I had an issue few months prior where my birds were fighting each others, but they got along eventually and we put them in the same cage. The previous owners didn’t know their age, their gender and many information that would’ve been useful. Coco, my “female” lovebird has a small amount of dried blood on her beak (like if she bit Rico extremely hard). I can separate them, but the nearest vet that can receive and help birds is like 4 hours away. Rico is still moving, but I’m scared and I don’t know what to do. I’m scared for Rico’s life and while he’s eating, he doesn’t seem like the Rico I know. Coco, the other lovebird, also has injuries on her legs.

Definitely separate and make contact with the vet. Maybe they can do an online consult to determine if the 4 hour trip is necessary

Definitely separate!
Xtra warmth is amazingly helpful for sick or injured bird.
I would not try and clean...I would just leave alone and let vet decide.
This area the wound could enter the crop...its hard to tell if crop looks distended or just the way pictures look..
He might appreciate soft foods. Are there any he eats? Like cooked quinoa or lentils or cooked mashed sweet potatoes , or if pellets add a little warm water just enough to soften and make crumble

the injuries on the other ones legs you can add betadine to a little warm water to look like ice tea color. Then soak a guaze or wash cloth in it and just hold on legs for a couple of minutes. No scrub no rub just a warm compress. You can do 3x a day if tolerates. Till you get your vets advice.

If that's not possible, and you have a spray bottle you can mist a little of the solution on legs. Just a fine mist, like one good spray. And let dry in on own. I use betide on feet wounds and feel comfortable with it.

Do not do this to the other ones neck face wound. We don't know what's going on there. Don't want to dislodge any clots

We’ve sprayed Coco’s toe, but we’ve realized it looks broken. It’s also pretty bloody and like half of her toe’s skin is peeled off. She’s also extremely stressed and wants to go back in the cage where Rico’s in. The injury to Rico’s neck is quite deep. The pictures I’ve taken don’t really seem to show how it looks. I’m like extremely stressed for them and can’t think about anything else. The nearest vet that takes in tropical animals is near a city named Montreal, which is about 4 hours of car from where I live. I also have a hard time getting them on me as they’re quite new, so it would be hard to take them there. Rico does not look too well and tries to sleep & eat often. He’s constantly in a relaxed posture though. Is there anything else that can be done?

put the cages right next to each other but far enough away thst if each leaned pushed beak out they can't touch each other.

No there isn't anything else I can offer on badly wounded one.

I would pre heat car. Bundle cages. Travel with food and water for them, and stop every hour and a half and give them 15 minutes with food and water. As most won't drink or eat while in motion. When you get your vet appointment. This is veterinarian territory. They may amputate toe. The other or both may need stitches pain meds and antibiotics

By area, what do you mean? Quebec is the province I live in, which in North America, Canada.
Yes a general area like Quebec/Canada is what I meant :) While many of our members are in North America, many others aren't and services are different depending on where you live :)

When I put their cage near, Coco jumps everywhere and gets all crazy. I just don’t want her to get more hurt, so I put them farther away from each other and they seem to have calmed down. Is that ok or should I put them closer (they can’t see each others, but Coco is much calmer).

Do what works best, calm is probably way better with all these injuries.

I don’t know much about injuries healing, but is it normal the injury of Coco’s toe is now black (like it seems hard and she does not bleed anymore)? Does that mean it’s healing?

Thank you for your support, I just hope they don’t die. Even if amputation is needed, I hope they can survive.
I was also wondering if Coco and Rico could be the same gender too. I’ve read about certain types of lovebirds being put together can be more aggressive towards each other even though they’re of different gender. Is that true? I was wondering if Coco was that way because of her (mutation?). I don’t know what type of lovebird she even is, so if you could help me on that, I would gladly appreciate. Here’s pictures of her/him:

It can be a scab, a clot, or loss of blood supply and a dead toe...all this exceeds my ability to help you and falls under veterinarian care , veterinarian seeing in person.

Your bird really needs a vet. Black is not good (no circulation or necrotic) and you will likely need antibiotics.

How do I give her antibiotics? Rn she/he is sleeping, so I can’t, but I would like to know how to give that to a bird. But like it’s not the paw that is black, but the crust. Could it be dried blood?

You should not try to administer antibiotic without vet prescription. The vet will show you how to safely administer antibiotic if it is needed.

Without seeing your bird it is so hard to say what it possibly is that you are seeing, we can not help further than tell you what we have already- this, from your description is vet territory.
